Hello, nice to meet you!

My name is Kaelyn Hancock and I am a PSI student at the University of Lethbridge.

I completed my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Art History at the University of Lethbridge in 2023, then worked an incredible year as an Educational Assistant in a grade 2/3 and 4/5 class at Senator Buchanan Elementary. The connections and memories that I made throughout my year with Senator Buchanan will stay close to my heart as I further my career in education.

I recently completed my first teaching practicum placement at the Stirling School in Stirling, Alberta. I am so grateful for my time teaching Grade 5 Science and Social Studies, I will miss the students and community so much!

My Story

Aside from my schooling, my passions include figure skating, art, reading, and coaching! I attribute a lot of my character towards the lessons I learned throughout my journey as a competitive figure skater. I started skating at just 3 years old so all essential building blocks of life, for me, were formed on ice. Now I am lucky enough to be back at the club where I grew up, coaching a team of synchronized skaters. I am so honoured that I get to be their coach!

Another passion of mine is travelling. I was lucky enough to go to Spain last fall, and took a trip this past summer to Greece, Italy, and Turkey. One of the highlights of the trip for me was kayaking around the coast in Santorini and snorkelling over an inactive volcano!

I cannot talk about myself without acknowledging the beautiful people that have made me, me! This is some of my family...

fun fact: I coach my little sister!

I am so grateful for the lessons that I have learned from these people and experiences, and I would love to share my love of learning and passion for finding fun in the little things with my students as a future teacher!
